The National Scorpion Class Association held its Inland Championship event at Chew Valley Lake SC over the weekend of 14-15 June 2025.
South Cerney SC well well-represented by Al Sim and Will Hancock sailing 2018, and Malcolm James with Monty Hampton in 2001. Conditions for the 18-boat fleet were varied over the two days, starting off in fairly light winds on the Saturday and building to a constant Force 5 with gusts over 25 mph on the Sunday. A total of seven races were sailed with both pairs gaining respectable mid-fleet positions of 11th and 8th after discards. Full results and Yachts & Yachting report at:

Our enthusiast crews swept the board for the Youth prizes; Monty Hampton 1st and Will Hancock 2nd each gaining a voucher kindly donated to the class by Magic Marine (https://www.magicmarine.co.uk)
These achievements demonstrate their continued development as all-round sailors, and were a precursor in many ways to their continued success as helms in last weekend's Cadet Open at South Cerney SC.
