For dinghy hire members MUST attend an induction session for the class of boat that they wish to hire. (Note: the Laser Induction covers all Laser rig sizes). These sessions are organised through Training and you should contact either the Chief Instructor - Dinghy or the Training Principal:

On successful completion of your induction, you will be granted access on the website to make reservations for the specific class of boat. These options are available on the boat class page.

Members must adhere to the hire terms and conditions (click here).

Bookings are for half days slots or for Weds evening.

For dinghy hire you must be a current club member and hold a minimum dinghy sailing qualification of RYA Adult Level 2 or RYA Youth Stage 2, or have relevant previous sailing experience. Your ability will be assessed during the induction, and once complete your website profile will be updated to allow you to make a booking. For paddle boards no qualifications or experience are required.

If you have completed an induction for one class of boat and you would then like to sail another class of boat, then you will be required to complete a further induction in that class of boat. This is to ensure that you know how to rig the boat correctly, and to ensure that the boat is not damaged through lack of knowledge about the boat.

Any damage or missing items must be reported using the club's Fault Reporting Procedure: which is an essential part of the induction process. If you cannot access the club house please report to the Club Hire Fleet bosun bosun; Thom Hollands, bosun@southcerneysailingclub.org.uk or thomhollands@live.co.uk

Club dinghies MUST NOT be sailed in winds greater than Beaufort Force 4, paddle boards may be used in all wind strengths

Members may use club boat at times when there is no safety cover on the water. At these times members are required to adhere to the Lone Sailing Guidelines as printed in the club handbook.
