Important COVID-19 Test & Trace Update
Published 09:36 on 24 Sep 2020
On September 18th the government announced that as from the 24th of September it will be a legal requirement for some businesses and organisations to display COVID-19 test and trace posters with QR codes for attendees to use to capture their attendance.
Our Sailing Club falls into one of the listed categories that is required to display the posters. Full details of the announcement can be found by Googling 'Venues required to enforce rule of 6, NHS QR code posters and contact logs'
Therefore from the 24th of September you will see the attached poster displayed around the club. You will also need to download the NHS COVID-19 app onto to your smartphone or tablet. You can only scan the code from within the app it will not work with your camera like normal QR codes, this is a government restriction not ours.
NOTE: You can download the app before the 24th but it does not go live until the 24th.
So what does this all mean to us from the 24th..............
Before the 24th September
Please continue to use the existing SCSC email test and trace procedure if you are going to the club
On or after the 24th September
Please use the NHS COVID-19 app and scan the QR code of the posters when you arrive at the club
OR
If you do not have a smart phone or tablet continue to use the SCSC email test and trace procedure
PLEASE REMEMBER:- This will be a legal requirement as from 24th September and fines of up to £4000 can be imposed on the sailing club for failure to comply.
Thank you for your continued support and adherence to the SCSC COVID-19 processes and procedures.
If you have any queries relating to how COVID-19 measures are being implemented at the club please do not hesitate to contact a member of the SCSC Covid team; Vernon Perkins, Terry Alliston, Richard Leftley, Paul Kimmens
