SUP Safari & Kayak Cruising

Our Lake is a fantastic place to undertake a SUP safari or Kayak cruise in its own right, as well as a great place to practice the skills for when we are paddling further from home.

One favourite route is to:

Launch from the dinghy beach, turn left and track along the bank underneath the dinghy park. A still day will allow you to see Dragonflies amongst the reeds and other insect life in the marginal area between lake and shore. The slower you go, the more you see!

Keeping 20m away from houses and anglers, paddle towards the tree lined back that borders the small Lake. Here, amongst the trees of you are quiet and still you will hear Coot and Moorhens moving along under the bank. being close to the bank means there is some delicious shade to be enjoyed on a hot day. Visit Buoy 8 for a coffee stop before then the longish paddle to the bacon opposite the beach. There is a nature reserve tucked away behind some islands, and so is to be avoided, but this area has larger waterfowl and is worth a look.

The route is outlined in the attached gallery.
