Paddling Kayak or SUP
Paddling a kayak or SUP on the lake is great fun, especially on those light wind days when sailing just doesn't cut it. Or socialise at the club, have a picnic and have a paddle. Great fun for all the family.
All members can paddle so long as it is a professional craft, not an inflatable toy swan or banana etc, and are wearing a buoyancy aid.
Please avoid sailing dinghies if there is racing on the lake.
The club has 3 paddle boards for members to hire. For more information and to book click here
We also have a kayak/SUP rack where items can be stored onsite.
Looking for ideas? See here:
- Hook up to a mooring buoy for a break: tea buoys and mooring buoys
- Paddle somewhere nice: SUP and kayak safari route
We also have a electric pump for inflating SUPs and kayaks. This is stored in a cabinet by the Club Garages
.
The only operation needed is to unlock the cabinet (the combination is the same as the Club's code for the entry gate), and power the pump on, as indicated by the switch within the red box. A larger image is at the bottom of this page.
.
An adaptor may be needed of the specification illustrated:
.
A video here gives an overview about using the pump, but the key points are:
1. Compressed air is dangerous - use is by adults only. Read the safety signs before using the equipment.
2. The Combination for access is the same as the gate code. Close and scramble the lock after use.
3. The only switch needing to be used is the pump's on/off switch.
4. The pump's gauge does not record the pressure in your inflatable so be conscious NOT to over inflate your watercraft.
5. Have a lovely time on our beautiful lake!
