    Frostbite series gets off to an exciting start

    Sunday 3rd October saw the start of the Frostbite series with races 1 and scheduled for an 11:00 start. The forecast looked breezy with a 14 knot average gusting over 20 to start with and increasing to 16 knot average gusting 25 later on. The good news was that the grey skies and rain from Saturday had cleared and there as glorious sunshine to greet the competitors. 11 competitors took to

    ILCA Open - Saturday 2nd October

    13 boats, including 4 visitors, braved the rather miserable weather to compete in the ILCA open. During midweek the forecast was for 20 knot winds with gusts of 30 and heavy rain but overnight on Friday the forecast improved and the 1st race kicked off in a fairly steady 10 knots with light rain and grey skies. John Ling (Bartley SC) had a great start and lead the field throughout the race

    A warm sunny day, 10 competing boats, what more could one wish for? Well perhaps a little more wind. The light unsteady easterly was going to pose problems for the Race Officer, Jonny Stevenson.

    Solo Nationals - Mounts Bay

    98 Solos invaded Mounts Bay for the Rooster Solo National Championships from 22-27 August. Ian Bartlett and Vernon Perkins made the trip through the holiday traffic to represent our club.

    Cadets - another brilliant summer

    Our young sailors from eight to seventeen have paddleboarded around the lake at sunset and battled force 8 winds in Mounts Bay. They've coached and competed. They've laughed heartily, and cried bitterly.

    Two Scorpions from the home fleet travelled to Castle Cove SC on 02 July for the much-anticipated Weymouth Dinghy Regatta weekend and some big course sea sailing on the waves.

    Cadets at Grafham

    After almost a year and a half of Covid-related absence, the Cadet Class was finally able to return to one of its favourite venues at Grafham Water Sailing Club for the Peter Scott Trophy Championship, in July.
