Max and Will Win National Championship

Youth Sailors, Max Buswell and Will Farrant have become the Laser 3000 National Champions after taking the title at this year’s National Championship held at Carsington Water.
The Youth and Adults competed together with three trophies up the grabs; the National Champion, Laser Trophy (for the first Laser rather than V3000) and the Under 18 Trophy.
In challenging conditions Max and Will took two seconds and a first overall on the first day, and on the Sunday, in lighter winds, took two firsts and a fourth which was their discard. In most races they were neck and neck with Myles and Nick who also run the Class Association and sail the much lighter and faster V3000.
Max and Will were awarded the trophy as the National Champions and the other two trophies which they won were cascaded down the fleet.
They performed really well and presented themselves well during the racing and at the awards ceremony and Max gave a great speech. This is a great credit to them and to our emerging Youth fleet at South Cerney.
