Try Sailing in May, and bring the family.

There’s a great opportunity in May to find out what life’s like in a sailing club, and to get out on the water for a short sail.
South Cerney Sailing Club is holding the first of this year’s open mornings on Saturday 12th May from 10:00 to 13:00,and all are welcome to pay us a visit.  This links with an RYA initiative ‘Try Sailing in May’.
If you’d like to find out more about getting out on the water with nothing but the power of the wind in a sail to get you moving, we’d like to think we can help.  We’re sure we have something to offer all who like the idea of windsurfing, cruising gently round the lake, racing, helping your youngsters learn and have fun, or relaxing on the bank watching all the activity on the water.  And we’re sure you’ll find the atmosphere to be very pleasant and friendly.
We’re always happy for prospective members to call for a look around and a chat at the times we're operating.  But on our open mornings, as long as the weather is suitable, we aim to give everyone a short sail around the lake to experience what it’s like.  You’ll be in the hands of a very experienced helm.  We provide buoyancy aids but recommend you come dressed in appropriate clothes in case you get wet, it’s very unlikely, but as well to be prepared.
There’ll also be boats to look at, and plenty of members to chat to.  So you should be able to find out everything you may want to know.  No booking necessary, but arrive early for the better the chance of getting on the water promptly, and the more time to chat.
The youngsters of the club will be out training and sailing, so you’ll also be able to see how much fun they have, and to discuss their range of activities.
We know sailing may not be for you, but why not come along and find out for yourself. We’d love you to see just why we enjoy our sailing so much.
