Big hand to the Cadets!

The weekend of 8/9th July saw 23 entries competing in the Cadet Open. Despsite challenging wind, with 180 degree shifts on a single leg at times, five races were run for Gold/Silver and Bronze fleets with many sailors in their first major competition.

Race Office Gary Morris commended the sailors on their competitive spirit, skill and sportsmanship.

Frensham Sailing Club took all three honours in Gold while Fran Neale and Emilia Hampton tooked a hotly contested first place in Bronze and Flo Hawker and Elissa Power third.

A big hand goes to Jamie and Will Mears for a spectacular showing in the parents' race, leading the eliminator right from the Le Mans start before smoking the opposition for a well earned win in the final.

The galley turned out over 500 servings and didn't miss a beat. Diners chilled out to music from Conrad in the evening while the cadets toasted marshmellows.

A perfect weekend - thank you all for coming.
