Cadet Duties - additional info

Hi Folks,

Some more details regarding duties for next year, which I forgot to include in the note yesterday.

First of all, thank you to those who have already signed up.  You were certainly quick off the mark!

When selecting duties, please can each family offer a balance of duties, including 2 galleys (i.e. 1 galley 1 and 1 galley 2) and then 4 other duties such as safety, responsible adult, race officer or coach.

Race officer and coach can be performed by anyone taking part in the additional coach training that I am running from December to March, and anyone who holds a current RYA Race Coach or RYA Dinghy Instructor certificate.

Assistant coach roles are reserved for the 2015 Cadet coach award winners, as well as other ex-Cadet sailors (under 18) who wish to assist with coaching from time to time.  These roles do not count towards a families duty contribution.

Ex-Cadets, and past winners of the coaching award may volunteer for Coaching duties as long as they are over 18, and hold the appropriate qualifications mentioned above.  These do count towards a families duty contribution.

As mentioned previously, Safety boat drivers must hold their Powerboat Level 2 certificate.  Safety boat crews do not need any previous experience.

I hope that helps with your decision making.

Happy New Year,

Andrew
